Rainy Day

My mother taught me the two first lines of a Rainy Day.
Like it’s been raining all day those two lines appeared in my mind,
so I prolonged them and formed a poem.

Rain rain, go away
Please come back another day
The children want to go out and play
I want to hear them shout and be gay.

Rain rain, go away
Please come back another day
I want to go strolling down the bay
like to keep my feet dry, if I may.

Rain rain, go away
Please come back another day
The trees are looking far from okay
losing their leaves in a real fast way.

Rain rain, go away
Please come back another day
Tell the wind to slow down but stay
And tenderly blow the rain away.

Rain rain, go away
Please come back another day
Animals don’t like soaking wet hay
So go to the dessert, stay till May.

Rain rain, go away
Please come back another day
The cellar is wet, what more to say
For today you have not made my day.

Rain rain, go away
Please come back another day
Roof is leaking, buckets in the way
Have a bit of pity, go away.

Rain rain, go away
Please come back another day
Going to find a plummer and say
Close the hole, keep the water away.
