Dreams don’t always come through

S)he sure found out the hard way
That dreams don’t always come through

Sung by Gladys Knight & the Pips.
Midnight train to Georgia

Bye cloudy hazy dream-world,
farewell mom, dad and loved ones.
Left home, flew into the world
a world she heard of, but didn’t know.
Work hard, become somebody
support her loving family.

Gone was her caring childhood.
Failing to be understood,
roughed up, manipulated,
Belittled, discriminated,
by narrow-minded people
breathing in the need to grumble.

She studied the strange mankind
because for sure, she was not blind.
What she believed in was gone,
she would have to start from hereon.

After one year of failure,
feeling like a survivor,
She stuck back the clippings
on her damaged shortened wings.

And she flew.
